We are seeking motivated candidates to work for BlueWay as Field
Representatives for the Small Business Lighting Program.
As an ideal candidate, you must be interested in energy efficiency. A
background or knowledge of lighting fundamentals is an asset.
Role of the Field Representative:
The Field Representative’s main responsibilities include:
• Ability to sell business owners on the concept of energy efficiency
and the specific offerings of the program
• Work independently and as part of a team to engage small commercial
businesses in utility funded energy conservation opportunities
• Deliver Energy and Lighting assessments
The Representative will report to the local Program Coordinator and
will need to be very organized, reliable and motivated. This
individual will need to work well on his/her own as well as part of a
team.
Qualifications:
• Education: Completion of a post-secondary degree or relevant experience
• Vehicle: Access to a reliable late model vehicle will be required
Skills Required:
• Successful candidates must possess a professional demeanour and be
comfortable leading a sales pitch, providing education and canvassing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, highly organized,
attentive to detail, ability to work independently or as part of a
team, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for working within the
environment industry
• Previous sales experience preferred
• Must be computer literate
• Ability to speak Mandarin or Cantonese required
• Technical knowledge of lighting systems would be an asset
Tasks will include:
• Perform one-on-one program introduction to small business owners
• Conduct laptop assisted lighting energy audits and give recommendations
• Distribute program literature and collateral materials to business owners
• Facilitate energy efficient retrofits in small businesses
