ated within the School of Mathematics and Physics in the
Faculty of Science at the University of Queensland. It is the leading provider
of mathematics education in Queensland, and is internationally recognised for
its research excellence.
The
role
In the research
domain, the person will develop quantitative theory, tools and models for
management of natural resources. Existing expertise in the Centre includes
fisheries statistics, modelling of climate change impacts on marine ecosystems,
and Bayesian modelling. The successful candidate should be an applied
mathematician/applied statistician with experience in real-world applications
in (but not limited to) natural resource management including fisheries and
water quality monitoring. This position will be part of CARM and the successful
applicant will be expected to develop and deliver teaching modules and courses.
An ability to attract research funding is highly desirable.

opportunity. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and deliver

Remuneration
This is a full-time,
fixed term appointment to 31 December 2017 at Academic Research Level B or C.
The remuneration package will be in the range $86,853 to 122,679 p.a., plus
employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in
the range $101,618 to $143,534 p.a.).
