The Nama Wellness
Community Centre (NAWEC) is a not-for-profit health centre that was established
in mid-2014 to address the needs in Nama Sub-County, a peri-urban community
outside of Kampala, Uganda. NAWEC aims to complement the existing medical
services thr
oughout the Sub-County and District by providing primary health

Position
Overview
NAWEC is seeking a
Clinic Director to play an integral role in ongoing operations of a Health
Center II in Lukojjo Village, Nama Sub-County, Mukono District, to begin as
soon as possible. The Clinic Director will report directly to the NAWEC Board
of Directors and the Country Director of Komo Learning Centres, the funder for
the health centre.
Responsibilities
- Develop
and implement of systems, policies, and procedures to support the business
operations; - Assist
in the development and implementation of the strategy and business
objectives; - Lead
human resource development and strategies that attract, retain, and
motivate staff that is dedicated to outstanding, client oriented
performance. - Lead
the procurement function in developing and implementing procurement
strategies that maximize value. - Ensure
compliance of all regulatory requirements including sending required
monthly reports to Ministry of Health. - Ensure
the maintenance of accurate and timely financial reports to facilitate
informed decision-making. - Oversee
staff and the management of funds received and dispersed, procurement, and
payroll following the approved procedures outlined in financial and
administrative manual. - Prepare
quarterly and annual reports. - Ensure
the development and implementation of an adequate framework to identify
and mitigate risks. - Assist
in developing continuing education training schedules and materials for
clinic staff and Village Health Teams. - Assist
the Youth Development Program Director in designing and implementing youth
and health programming. - Assist
in developing a monitoring and evaluation tools to measure programming
impact. - Develop
and maintain key partnerships with public and private entities that
compliment services and program objectives. - Develop
and maintain partnerships with government, non-government organizations,
and donors. - Ensure
that the centre is consistently presented in a positive image to relevant
stakeholders. Apply for grants or additional funding.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree in health administration, community or public health, business
administration, community development, or related field. Master’s degree
or equivalent work experience preferred. - Experience
managing programs and staff, ideally in a medical setting. - Fluency
in English required. - Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite.
