PURPOSE OF
POSITION:
This position reports into the Sponsor. The Project Director will work closely
with the Project Sponsor, Steering committee and regional and national leaders
offices to ensure the required business change is achieved in a straightforward
and non-disruptive manner. Direct reports will include a Business Process
Manager, Change and Communication Manager, Project Manager and IT Development
Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define, shape and implement the structures,
resources, equipment and processes required to establish a shared
services unit that provides world-class services for the HR, Procurement
and Finance operations of the SAPO (South Asia & Pacific) Region - Formally review the leadoff project in Latin
American & Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO), to be used as the basis
of planning. - Create a project charter and detailed plan
that defines how the project goals will be achieved - Create and lead a team that achieves the
project goals - Monitor progress against the plan, report on
a regular basis and make corrections as necessary to see that the goals
are met - Escalate key issues, with recommendations for
corrective actions, to the Project Sponsor and Steering Committee - Manage the process for the analysis, design
and actions required to transition the process support units in National
Offices to the Shared Services Centre - Develop, execute and monitor a Benefits
Realisation Plan that identifies the benefits desired from the project
and the actions required to achieve them. - Establish and Co-ordinate the required
relationships between stakeholders, including Senior Management, Hackett
Group, Business Process Owners and Suppliers - Ensure that the appropriate platforms
(hardware, buildings, software and other infrastructure) are provided
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED:
- A solid understanding of how business change
is achieved in an organsiation. - Expertise with project management approaches,
tools and phases of the project lifecycle. - Exceptional English communication skills –
both written and verbal. - Able to work effectively at all levels in an
organization. - Excellent active listening skills.
- Experience with large-scale organizational
change effort. - Strong leadership, organisational,
interpersonal and cross cultural skills - At least one significant business
change/shared services implementation - Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPointPREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Commerce or
Management or a relevant field - Project Management Certification (PMP, PgMP)
- Knowledge of WVI Partnership Operations
minimum standards and practices - At least 10 years of work experience
preferably with NGO
