Project Controller – Stationed in Shanghai (Job Ref No.: ACC08)
ABOUT THE JOB
The business unit primarily handles large scale
interior fitting-out projects for entertainment and leisure industry. The
projects could stretch from months to two years. The team comprises talents
from all over the world with skills covering carpentry, engineering, project
management, quantity surveying, painting, and other technical expertise that
may vary from project to project. These talents could be engaged as permanent
or contract staff.

The Project Controller is a senior position in the business unit and his
primary responsibility will be to assist the head of the business unit in
managing all financial matters relating to the business unit and its projects.
The incumbent is expected to be able, within the parameters of the Group’s financial
policies, to ensure compliance with and enhance the existing control system
and, if necessary, to implement new processes to ensure that all aspects of the
operations, including but not limited to cashflow monitoring and planning,
timely billings and collections in accordance with contracts, payments on
verifiable costs, controlling financial status according to budget, legitimacy
of staff claims and other areas which may pose operating risks to the business,
are adequately monitored and controlled. 

Ability to produce accurate and timely
monthly financial and management reports in accordance with the Group’s
standards of the projects and business unit is essential. Other than dealings
with clients and sub-contractors on financial matters, the position may be
required to also deal with relevant government departments, other statutory
licensing bodies and banks. From time to time, the incumbent could be asked to
assist with ad hoc assignments outside the above scope.

In addition to financial matters, the position will also be assisting corporate
legal department in coordinating legal matters relating to the business unit
and ensuring compliance to corporate legal guidelines. The position will be
stationed in Shanghai.

COMPETENCIES

  • Candidates should have at least 8 years of
    related experience in finance control and project or cost accounting and
    in construction business.
  • Candidates with prior relevant working
    experience in PRC will be preferred.
  • Possess professional accounting qualifications
    and membership of government recognized accounting association
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with
    attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge in the use of various
    software including Microsoft Office is essential
  • Candidates with previous knowledge in working
    with ERP systems would have added advantage
  • Good inter-personal skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Proficient in English and Putonghua
