Muhammad Ali Center offers Generation Ali
Global Citizenship Scholarships Program for undergraduate study. The
scholarships are funded for both USA and International Students. Applicants
applying for the scholarship must be enrolled in full-time undergraduate
study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or
vocational-technical school in the United States. Up to 15 awards of $10,000
each will be granted. Eligible applicants must submit their applications
till January 15, 2013.

scholarships are available for courses offered in the university
at undergraduate level.
Course Level: This scholarship is available for pursuing
undergraduate degree.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
-Be high school seniors or graduates or be current post
secondary undergraduates. Students outside the United States must be in their
final year of upper or higher secondary school or be current undergraduate
students attending school in the United States.
-Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or
four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the United
States for the entire 2013-2014 academic year.

Scholarship Description: It is a well-known fact that education is the key to moving up the
social economic ladder. Education also provides individuals with the ability to
understand and find common points of connectivity across cultures. As we live
in an increasingly “global world” we all must seek to find bridges, points of
commonality, across the multitude of cultures that have come together during
the 21st century. Muhammad Ali, guided by his six core principles, can bring
peoples from different cultures together like no other person. To carry
Muhammad Ali’s legacy as global unifier, the Muhammad Ali Center will be
sponsoring the Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship Program.The
program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of
Scholarship America. Scholarship Management Services is the nation’s largest
designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations,
foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to
race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, or
national origin.
Number of awards offered: Up to 15 awards will be granted: eight scholarships to United
States citizens and seven scholarships to non-United States
citizens.(Note: Two scholarships will be designated the Ina Brown Bond
Scholars, one for a recipient from Louisville (including Kentuckiana) and the
other for a recipient from outstate Kentucky. The Mayor of Louisville will
present the award to these students.)
Duration of award(s): Scholarships are awarded for the academic year 2013-2014.
What does it cover? $10,000 each will be granted.
Selection Criteria: Not all applicants to the program will be selected as finalists
and not all finalists will be selected as recipients. Selection of
recipients is a two-step process: (1)Scholarship finalists are selected on a
competitive basis with consideration of financial need and self-declared
academic record. Academic evaluation of upper or higher secondary school
international applicants will include a review of the grade/mark average based
on the grading system used in the applicant’s country. (2) The finalist’s
financial need, demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles, academic
qualifications and responses to the two essay questions will be used by
Scholarship Management Services to select potential recipients. Recipients must
demonstrate financial need.
Notification: 
 -This is a competitive program. Not all applicants to the program will
be selected as finalists and not all finalists will be selected as recipients.
Finalists will be notified by email on or before February 15,
2013. Applicants not selected as finalists will also be notified by email
at this time.(If a student is selected as a finalist he/she will be emailed
complete instructions regarding required documents that need to be submitted
within fourteen days).
-Recipients will be notified by the end of April by U.S. mail with a return
mailer for verifying enrollment. Finalists not selected as recipients will be
notified by email at this same time.
Scholarship Application Deadline: Applications should be submitted till January 15, 2013
