Senior Programme Officer, Community Health and HIV Job Vacancy in Malawi

Christian Aid is looking for a Senior Programme Officer, Community Health to provide support to the Malawi Programme particularly, but not exclusively, the Programme Partnership Agreement (PPA) on Community Health. The post holder will provide direct support to partners implementing the PPA Programme and work closely with the Malawi Christian Aid team to ensure PPA funded work is well integrated to strengthen performance of the country Programme.

The role is responsible for providing technical capacity building support to local partners, effectively allocating and disbursing funds, ensuring compliance with contracts and donor requirements, networking and advocacy work on key policy issues.

You will need to have programme management experience, be committed to working in partnership and have a good grasp of results-based monitoring and evaluation. You will be familiar with institutional donors such as DFID and the EU, and have an understanding of financial controls and procedures. A strong understanding of HIV, gender, power and exclusion is essential.

Reporting to the Programme Manager, this post is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with partners and institutional donors. You will also work closely with UK-based colleagues, Christian Aid programme staff across Africa and ICCO’s regional office for Southern Africa.

You will need to have a minimum university degree in a relevant discipline, knowledge in Development work; Experience in Public Health and managing community health programmes including Maternal and Child Health, expertise in M&E.
