Africare Clinical Coordinators Jobs Vacancies in Liberia

BACKGROUND:
Africare is a leader among private, charitable U.S. organizations assisting Africa. Africare’s programs address needs in three principle areas: Agriculture & Food Security, Health & HIV/AIDS, and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. Africare will be providing support to the Nimba County Health and Social Welfare Team and 39
health facilities and the corresponding catchment area communities in Nimba County. Through the implementation of the Essential Package of Health Services (EPHS), Africare will collaborate closely with the MOHSW to support service delivery outcomes with an emphasis on: improving access to primary health care, including maternal and child health, family planning and reproductive health, HIV & AIDS prevention and care, malaria prevention/ community involvement in determining health outcomes, and treatment, and clean water and sanitation. Africare will support inclusion of the new EPHS service (eye health, mental health, school health and prison health) in the Nimba County Health and Social Welfare strategic and operational plans.

Africare is therefore seeking recruit qualified and highly motivated candidates for the following positions to ensure delivery of the EPHS in the 39 health facilities in Nimba County

The specific responsibilities include:
Ensures that quality of care meets or exceed the standards defined by the MOHSW at all EPHS facilities;•
Oversee facilities and enforce the implementation of the Essential Package of Health Services at all facilities.•
• Organizes and prioritizes clinical responsibilities, provides direct supervision to clinical staff, (RN, LPN, MA, Med Assist, etc.).
Collaborates with other health care providers, Health Coordinator, and Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.•
• Consistently looks at current processes and procedures and identifies and implements areas of improvement while adhering to HIPAA, JCAHO, DOH as well as hospital and DCS requirements.
Collaborates with Health• Coordinator and Medical Director to develop, implement and manage a continuous Performance Improvement Program (PIP).
Engages in staff• development, providing general in services as well as individual instruction and orientation. Provides staff recognition through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
Collaborates with Medical Director in coordination of program objectives, from a budgetary and financial perspective.•
Collaborates with Health Coordinator Director and Medical Director to achieve EPHS indicators•

Qualification:
B.Sc. degree in Nursing or Midwifery, Master degree in Public Health desired;•
At least five years’ experience in a clinical setting in Liberia;•
Experience in building relationships and motivating people in rural communities;•
Working knowledge of the Essential Package of Health Services;•
Very good ability to speak the local language is an added advantage;•
Good English speaking, reading and writing skills and good interpersonal skills; and•
Willingness to live in Nimba County and travel frequently to rural locations in Nimba County.•
