Africare Child Survival Supervisor Job Vacancy in Liberia

Position: Child Survival Supervisor
Reports to Medical Director
Duty Station Nimba County

The Child Survival Supervisor will work with the CHT in overseeing the child health activities in Nimba County, including the Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) and the Expanded Program of Immunization (EPI).

Specific responsibilities include:
– Support the CHT in overseeing the work of the clinic staff providing IMCI and EPI services in the RBHS facilities;
– Assess and organize trainings as needed in the areas of IMCI, newborn care, and EPI;
– Work with the CHT to ensure the proper functioning of all refrigerators used for EPI cold chain management;
– Liaise with the CHT and Supply Chain Manager to ensure an adequate supply of child survival drugs and vaccines in the county;
– Work with the Community Health Advisor to oversee the community-based IMCI program;
– Monitor EPI outreach activities to ensure that the full catchment areas are covered;
– Perform supportive supervision in conjunction with the County Health Team at the clinics in the areas of reproductive health;
– Perform other duties as needed.

Qualification:
B.Sc. degree in Nursing or Midwifery;
At least three years’ experience in such position;
Working knowledge of the Essential Package of Health Services;
Very good ability to speak the local language is an added advantage;
Good English speaking, reading and writing skills and good interpersonal skills; and
Willingness to live in Nimba County and travel frequently to rural locations in Nimba County.
