Postdoctoral Research in Non-commutative Algebraic Geometry at The University of Antwerp, Belgium

The University of Antwerp is seeking to fill the following full time vacancy (m/f) at the
research group “non-commutative algebra and geometry”

Post-doctoral researcher in the field of non-commutative algebraic geometry.
• The main research topics of the group are non-commutative algebraic geometry and homological algebra with particular interest in non-commutative deformations and questions related to symplectic geometry,Fukaya categories and mirror symmetry.

Profile and requirements
• The research group is looking for excellent candidates that are given the chance to participate in a European project (ERC).
• The candidate will have to conduct high quality and independent research and should contribute to the coaching of students doing a master or doctoral study.
• Candidates for this position have a PhD in Science (Mathematics or Physics) and a strong background in geometry and homological algebra. Experience in symplectic geometry, in particular in the field of Fukaya categories is an advantage.
• Good communication/writing skills and a good mastery of the English language are essential.
• The position is available for an initial period of 1 year, with a possible extension up to several years.
• Starting date is October 2012.
