You will join a team providing support to a catchment population of approximately 200,000 in a rapidly growing region in Queensland comprising urban and rural sectors. High rates of unemployment and prevalent substance abuse create increasing demands for the Mental Health Service and you will get great experience rotating through all subspecialty areas where all see a fairly high level of acuity. A medium secure unit is due to be opened in 2012. Service delivery is offered along a continuum of care from acute / crisis care to continuing long term care and case management is utilised for those with severe mental illness requiring social and therapeutic support.
