Ontario Hospital Jobs Vacancy for a Manager in Norfolk General Hospital Canada

In response to our growing needs, Norfolk General Hospital is recruiting for the following position:

Infection Control Practitioner/Manager
(Full-time)

Position Summary:
Reporting to the VP, Patient Services this role, as Manager provides leadership across the hospital for the Infection Prevention and Control program. You will be responsible for conducting surveillance activities, leading outbreak management, submitting ministry data, serving as an expert consultant internally and externally; providing education to staff, reviewing, selecting and distributing appropriate literature; linking with external partners. This role includes providing infection prevention and control recommendations for construction projects. This role is also responsible for the infection control committee, program budget, unit supervision and is part of the management on call roster.

Position Qualifications:
– Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred or health care/clinical field such as microbiology or equivalent combination of education and experience
– Current certification from the Certification Board of Infection Control or commitment to completing the certificate within first two years
– Membership in the Community and Hospital Infection Control Association is preferred
– Minimum three years recent progressive experience in the practice of Infection Control, having demonstrated;

* Excellent presentation skills
* Strong research, analytical and project management skills
– Knowledge and practical experience in the use of computers and computerized databases.
– Knowledge of the principles and practice of adult learning/teaching.
– Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize workload.
– Development and maintenance of policies, practices and procedures that ensure compliance with governing bodies, including federal and provincial guidelines as well as mandatory health programs and service guidelines.
