Stranded international students at Bishop Barham University College get relief food donated by Alumni Association

Former Bishop Barham University College students in Kabale Municipality under the Bishop Barham University Alumni Association have donated relief food items to 15 stranded foreign students at the university on Saturday.

When President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni directed early in March to close all educational institutions as a way to counter the spread of COVID-19, the students from Rwanda and Burundi could not return to their home countries.

Several of the donated items include; 200 kg of maize flour, 5 bunches of matooke and 80 kg of beans.

A team of former students led by the Chairperson of Bishop Barham University Alumni Association Patrick Tushabomwe and member Enid Origumisiriza, who handed over the relief food items to the University Principal, said they agreed to donate the items as one way to show love and support to the university that has looked after them since the pandemic erupted.

Bishop Barham University College Principal Rev. Can. Dr Medard Rugyendo commended the former students for remembering th university students saying this shows they love the university.
