He said the meeting was deliberating on developing and mapping new strategies to tackle terrorism, banditry and other crimes promptly, especially in the northern part of the country.

Mr Enechie called for Nigerians to cooperate with the Armed Forces and security agencies in addressing security challenges to restore sanity to troubled regions quickly.

He said those at the meeting were Army Staff Chief, Tukur Buratai; Naval Staff Chief, Ibok-Ete Ibas; Air Staff Chief, Sadique Abubakar; and Police Inspector General, Mohammed Adamu.

“Also in attendance were the Director General, Department of State Service Yusuf Bichi; Director General, Nigerian Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Abubakar; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Muhammed Usman and the Commandant General, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abdullahi Mohammadu,” he said.
