Fatai Oyedele, a 36-year-old man, was rescued after he tried to commit suicide on the popular Ogun River in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State on June 24.
The man arrived at the river at about 1 pm and attempted to dive into it, according to eyewitnesses. He had been saved by people from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE).
Confirming the incident, Ogun TRACE Corps spokesperson Babatunde Akinbiyi said he was frustrated with his life, said the married man with five children.
He was later taken to Adigbe police station.
