A 27-year-old man, Taiwo Odetunde, was arraigned by the Ekiti State police command on Tuesday, June 23, before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court over alleged defilement of two friends , aged 13 and 14, who he lured with a promise to make face-masks for them.
Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, police prosecutor, told the court that Odetunde committed the crime in Ado-Ekiti on June 9, 2020.
She advised the court to remand the defendant in the correctional facility awaiting legal advice from the Public Prosecution Director’s (DPP) office.
Mrs. Adefumike Anoma, the chief magistrate, did not listen to the accused man ‘s plea. Accordingly, she requested that he be remanded to the State Correctional Center and adjourned the case for consideration until 27 July 2020.
