Compared to last year’s case, organizers said that the amount of cars and superbikes expected to be displayed at the Auto Show’s third edition has risen dramatically.
Dubbed the exhibition ‘ Shyuha Auto Show, ‘ it is scheduled at Amahoro National Stadium, Remera for Saturday this week.
The annual car show draws hundreds of people who appreciate vehicle drifting, free rides and motorcycle and car engine reviving sounds.
The auto show this year will feature the recent, oldest, most costly, most strong, most pimped cars and motorcycles in Rwanda with the cleanest engine bay, the finest rims and the finest sound mufflers.
The amount of cars and superbikes lined up for the car show is anticipated to rise from 67 last year to 120, including 50 superbikes and 60 cars, of various brands from the 1950s.
The event organizer Paul Bakuru told media that the rise was due to attempts taken to track vehicles whose tales can inspire participants, while more exhibitors from outside the nation are also picking up more interest in showing their cars at the car show.
“Because there are vehicles that we believe might have interesting stories behind them, we toured different garages across Kigali and beyond and consulted some owners to share information about whether they have old brand vehicles that might be worth showcasing. We even pay those who we think can help us trace the kinds of cars that can catch interest from attendees,” he said.
A amount of cars and superbikes of different brands and brands will be on display at Mercedes Benz’s auto show, locally assembled Volkswagen vehicles and any brand imported to Yamaha and TVS bicycles by Akagera Motors.
Organizers have invited various stakeholders from South Africa, Kenya, DRC, Burundi and Tanzania in the automotive industry to guarantee more visibility
Bakuru disclosed that it will be a kind of company undertaking in the future where they intend to have a permanent showroom for such vehicles, where already-established dealerships can have room to showcase their products as they bid to construct a brand event that could expand from national to global level.
“Our focus is that, sooner or later, the auto show event will become an auto festival recognized at the international level. We want to make this auto show a brand event that, in the next 20 years, we can take to Burundi, DR Congo, Kenya or elsewhere in the world,” Bakuru said.
Contrary to last year, on the eve of the car show [ Friday ], at a unique Meet and Greet Sound Check Setup night, exhibition participants are anticipated to take their cars and bikes to make it simple for organizers to get to know the exhibitors.
A parade for cars to be displayed at the exhibition will open the car show as organizers work intimately with cops to guarantee safety on highways designated for the parade.
To date, some artists have shown interest in renting the vehicles shown in past car shows in their video shootings and their videos look fairly nice.
R&B singer Social Mula is the latest to use one of the vintage cars in his video
The entrance fee for the car show is Rwf 5000, with music by DJ Miller and DJ Marnaud. Food and drinks will also be used for the auto show goers at the venue, while children’s recreational spaces have also been taken into account.
