On Monday, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Munyuza visited the graduation ceremony of the course ‘ Integrated Police Officers ‘ held in the capital Juba.
The graduation of 420 policemen was presided over by South Sudan’s First Vice President, Gen. Taban Deng.
The Vice President praised the Government of Rwanda for “excellent bilateral collaboration” and for promoting SSNPS capacity building and abilities growth.

He encouraged the graduates in their police career to be defined by professionalism.
IGP Munyuza later issued a courtesy call to South Sudan Interior Minister General Michael Chienjiek.

Their conversations centered on the current bilateral structure between the two police forces.
He subsequently held a bilateral conference with SSNPS IGP and senior management.
His South Sudan counterpart, IGP Gen. Majak Acek, valued the “friendship and excellent collaboration” between the two sister nations and organizations.
Gen. Majak valued the role of the Rwandan National Police (RNP) in constructing the ability of the South Sudan Police in multiple police areas.

In 2011, RNP and SSNPS signed a MoU to formalize and improve their collaboration in multiple policy areas, including data sharing and exchange of training programs and knowledge in multiple areas.
A number of South Sudan Police officers have been trained in various police areas in Rwanda, including senior command and staff courses.
In his remarks, IGP Munyuza said that RNP and SSNPS have over the years “built a good relationship and the two institutions will continue to mutually work together to make it even stronger and sustainable.”
“Partnership in law enforcement is a major priority for Rwanda.
We are committed to maintain and strengthen the already existing bilateral cooperation in fighting against organized crime like; terrorism, human trafficking, cyber crimes and other transnational crimes,” IGP Munyuza said.
He stressed that the current collaboration would also reinforce training programs between the training colleges and universities of the two organizations, as well as benchmarking for best practices.
