Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) detectives were on Saturday afternoon closing in at the home of embattled politician Victiore Ingabire who is accused of supporting subversive activities against the state.
Reports reaching us reveal that Ingabire is said to have facilitated a suspect known as Gaston Munyabugingo, who had been arrested while trying to flee the country to join a rebel group.
More crime scenes were searched, and detectives collected evidence.
RIB spokesperson Marie-Michelle Umuhoza confirmed that there were indeed ongoing searches to gather more evidence on the criminal network.
Detectives have already gathered useful information on many suspects including Munyabugingo and their leader Ingabire, according to preliminary intelligence
Now Ingabire is on a presidential pardon after being convicted of the same crime among others.
