The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced that it has agreed to paint ‘Black Lives Matter’ on courts at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Florida as the season resumes next month to highlight racial issues in the sport and the United States.
The league and players’ union have agreed on the move, according to the NBA, and the NBA will use three arenas at the Disney site as 22 of the 30 league teams end the regular season beginning July 30.
The National Basketball Players Association and the League have discussed methods for promoting equality messages and police reform since George Floyd ‘s death prompted protests across the nation and around the world.

According to ESPN, the WNBA (women’s basketball league) could also follow the lead of the NBA and place ‘Black Lives Matter’ on their courts at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, for its 2020 season. The report added that WNBA players could wear pregame shirts with the phrase, ‘Say Her Name,’ seeking to keep Taylor and other women who are victims of alleged police brutality in focus.
