For the third consecutive time, Rwanda’s international long-distance and cross- country runner Felicien Muhitira defended the French race Marvejols-Mende.
Mountain Classic Athletics runner Muhitira, ahead of Ugandan Ezekiel Chepkorom and Kenyan Bett Bernard in second and third respectively, clocked the fastest time of one hour thirteen minutes and fourteen seconds
Muhitira, the athlete of the Mountain Classic Athletics club, took an impressive run to protect the title at the 47th annual case in the men’s category over the weekend, which he won twice since last year.
More than 2,000 athletes from around the globe challenged the 22.4-kilometer race.
It didn’t go well for the other long- distance runner from Rwanda, Gervais Hakizimana, who finished far in 18th place with a moment of 1 hour twenty minutes and 55 seconds.
From France, the athlete will head to Japan where he will be linking up with other Rwandans to Morocco’s planned preparations for Africa.
