The human brain and hands always seek efficient results, but the heart pursues peace and happiness. In the Quran, the term “Qalb” refers to the heart. According to Quranic research, there are 13 types of hearts mentioned by Allah, representing different levels of faith strength. Prophet Muhammad emphasized that Allah values the heart and deeds over appearances and wealth.
Faiz Learning Quran Academy is an online Quranic project run by Islamic students from Medina, which aims to promote authentic Quranic learning around the world. It is an institute working under the guidance of Islamic graduates from the great city of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to teach recitation and memorization of the Holy Quran by using Internet technology in conducting live classes.
Let’s explore these hearts:
Qalb-e-Salim (Pure Heart):
This heart is cleansed from disbelief, hypocrisy, and filth. Allah appreciates and likes those with such hearts (Surat al-Shu’ara ‘, verse 89).
Qalb-e-Muneeb (Repentant Heart):
These are people who repent to Allah and stay busy obeying Him. Allah likes those who repent (Surah Q, verse 33).
Qalb-e-Makhbat (Humble Heart): Humble, content, and calm hearts are raised by Allah (Surat al-Hajj, verse 54).
Qalb-e-Wajal
(Fearful Heart): People who fear whether Allah will accept their goodness and are conscious of Allah’s punishment.
Qalb-e-Ta’qqi (Respectful Heart):
Those who respect Allah’s rites, refraining from eating or drinking in front of fasting people and remain silent during prayers.
Qalb-e-Mahdi (Satisfied Heart):
Hearts satisfied with Allah’s decisions, accepting them happily, are liked by Allah.
Qalb-e-Mutma’een (Content Heart):
These hearts find peace in the remembrance of Allah, avoiding sadness and grief by engaging in Tasbeeh.
Qalb-e-Hay’ee (Modest Heart):
Hearts that learn from the fate of disobedient people, cleanse evil, polytheism, and arrogance from their lives.
Qalb-e-Mareez (Sick Heart):
Hearts afflicted by doubt, hypocrisy, immorality, lust, and greed are considered sick by Allah.
Qalb-el-Amii (Insensitive Heart):
Insensitive hearts that neither see nor hear, referred to as blind and deaf by Allah.
Qalb-al-Ahi (Neglectful Heart):
Hearts oblivious to the Quran, engrossed in worldly pursuits.
Qalb-al-Asamm (Concealing Heart):
Hearts that cover the truth and conceal testimony, risking destruction.
Qalb-e-Mutak’bir (Arrogant Heart) Arrogant and rebellious hearts become victims of oppression and aggression.
Reflect on these hearts, and if you find your heart lacking, repent and return to goodness. Allah will open the doors of His grace for faiz learning .
