Body of 17-year-old girl swept away by Lagos flood found

The body of a 17-year-old girl, simply identified as Ayisat, who was swept away by strong flood at Alapafuja axis of the Surulere Low-Cost Housing Estate on Monday June 22, has been found.

Lagos witnessed a heavy downpour on Monday causing flooding of most areas in the state. Owing to floods, the canal along Alapafuja closely links Bank Olemoh was submerged.

After an intense search, men from Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA found the girl’s dead body at Onilegogo Canal, Surulere on June 23 Tuesday afternoon. The body was handed over to the members of the family who buried her immediately.
