Abducted Civil Defence officials released

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps ‘ Edo State Command (NSCDC) acknowledged on September 27 the release of two of its senior operatives kidnapped.

In an interview with journalists in Benin on Tuesday, the commandant, Makinde Ayinla, confirmed the release.

Mr Ayinla said their abductors at Ebelle community in Edo’s Igueben Local Government Area released the operatives early on Tuesday.

However, he said no ransom was paid to secure the operatives ‘ release.

The commandant thanked the police in Nigeria, the vigilante in Ebelle town, and the kidnapped workers ‘ families.

Mr Ayinla also praised the assistance and cooperation of other security organizations to ensure the release of the two men.

The two officers have been kidnapped around 2:30 p.m. At the Ebelle-Agbor railway bridge on the road to Benin between Ebelle and Ewosa communities.
