Action Aid International Rwanda (AAIR) is a country programme of ActionAid International (AAI) – an anti-poverty agency working with poor, voiceless people, communities and similar-minded partners worldwide. Action Aid is a non-partisan, non-religious development organisation that has been working in Rwanda as a full Country Programme since 1997 to contribute towards eradication of poverty and injustices with a focus on tackling the root causes of poverty. The organisation is primarily concerned with the promotion and defence of economic, social, cultural, civil and political human rights. AAIR has very strong commitment to supporting delivery of Government programmes and strategies including EDPRS and Vision 2020.

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT (THREE YEARS FIXED TERM CONTRACT-BILL GATES PROJECT)
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Reporting to the Project Manager with Matrix reporting to the Head of Finance, the Project Accountant is mainly responsible for ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of accounting reports, monitoring, of all financial operations and provide assistance, financial capacity building to Project partners as indicated. The incumbent will actively support in further Resources mobilization efforts, planning, budgeting and reporting for efficiency and effectiveness.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
• Enhancement/Establishment of strong and sound Finical and administrative control systems for the Project
• Capacity building for staff and partners in Financial and Grants Management
• Processing financial information and data as required
• Management and Control of Projects Assets and Materials as per Policies and Procedures.
• Relevant Ledger , Analysis and Reconciliations
• Review of Payments, Processing and Posting to SUN System
• Financial Reporting
• Supporting Audits at various stages as required
• Any other work assigned by line Manager
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPTENCES
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance Commerce or Business Administration or Financial Management with accounting option from a recognized Institution
• Professional qualification / Membership of a reputable Professional Accountancy body such as Local Accountancy body, ACCA, CIMA or CPA will be added Advantage
