for someone who wants to advance his/her career and has the ambition to work in

Key Responsibilities
- Read
and digest the script; - Scout
all locations for better shooting; - Review
all set plan; - Determine
any technical details needed for shooting session; - Shoot
camera and lens tests, especially checking the aspect ratios, lighting and
appropriate format.
- The
camera operator will be closely involved at all times with the setting up
of shots with the collection coordinator. - Collection
coordinator may have very strong ideas on photographic style and/or
framing and lenses and impose these on the production. - Once it
has been decided how a sequence will be filmed in rehearsals, the camera
operator will be involved with the collection coordinator on the choice of
lenses and the way the camera may move. - The
camera operator will then supervise the 1st and 2nd assistants (AC) and
the Grips to set up the shots while lighting and rehearsal of actors are
in progress. - The
Operator will check with the Script Supervisor that directions and eye
lines (lefts and rights) are correct – although for a camera operator this
should be instinctive. - Check

been recognized during the initial recording preparations. - Check
for any off-set items that may have crept onto the set such as lamp
stands, cables and unwanted props or crew personal possessions. - Rehearse
the scene and fine tune all camera moves. - Shooting
involves the camera operator looking through the eyepiece, panning and
tilting the camera to follow the action. - After
each take the camera operator will be able to say or should say to the
collection coordinator or/and Director of Production whether or not the
shot was good technically. - With
the almost universal use of video assist, many people can have an opinion
about a shot, but the camera operator should still have his say, as he
knows what he’s looking at and what for.
and Experience:
- Experience
with audio and video technologies. - Dynamic,
creative and organized. - Fluent
in English or French (reading, writing and speaking). - Any
experience about interviewing techniques may be helpful. - Strong

computer skills including familiarity with relational databases and
aptitude for quickly learning a variety of computer software and systems.
