Established in 1951, IOM is the
leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works
closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM
is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all.
It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
 Context:

Under the overall supervision of the
Chief of Mission and under the direct supervision of the National Migration
Health Physician, the incumbent is responsible for performing required
routine administrative and clinical tasks/procedures in connection with the
health assessment and treatment to ensure that identified refugees and migrants
are medically fit to migrate in accordance with the medical/health requirements
of the receiving countries.
Core
functions/Responsibilities:
  1. Arrange appointments and
    schedule health assessments including pre-test counselling, laboratory and
    radiology for refugees and migrants
  2. Generate and issues to the
    respective staff lists for counselling, laboratory tests, physical
    examination, vaccinations, Mantoux test, CXR and other appointment lists
    as required.
  3. Register and schedule migrants
    for physical examination and CXR as well as keeping records of quality
    control for X-ray reading discrepancies
  4. Perform phlebotomy and
    biometric measurements
  5. Generate Hold-Alert list from
    MiMOSA on a daily basis, receive and import XMIF data to MiMOSA
  6. Run queries on MiMOSA to ensure
    accuracy in Data processing
  7. Receive new medical forms from
    all agencies and applicants
  8. Prepare
    monthly/quarterly/yearly reports and statistics for submission to DaProFo.
  9. Initialize and printing blank
    medical forms for applicants.
  10. Prepare and print consent and
    vaccination forms on a daily basis
  11. Assist with taking photos and
    upload them on MIMOSA, UK and E-medical systems.
  12. Assist medical team in accurate
    patient’s medical history obtainment
  13. Ensure timely return of all
    completed medical forms to the respective Embassies, High Commissions and
    Agencies including organizing courier delivery for medical forms destined
    overseas.
  14. Perform any other duties as may
    be assigned from time to time.
  15. Coordinate work and schedule
    between MHAC-Kigali, laboratory, radiology, counselling unit and the
    examining physicians to ensure a smooth workflow within the clinic.

Desirable
Qualifications and experience
  1. Diploma in Nursing
  2. Minimum of four years
    continuous professional working experience in clinical nursing preferably
    in a medical facility or International NGO, UN Organizations, Work
    experience Refugee Settlement and Migration Health desirable.
  3. Training and experience in TB,
    STDs, other communicable diseases and migration health is considered an
    asset5.
  4. Computer literacy &
    proficiency in Ms Windows XP and 2007, Ms Office 2007, 2010, Database and
    Ms Access.
  5. Accuracy in handling and
    reporting data.
Languages
Excellent command of spoken and
written English is required. Knowledge of French and Kinyarwanda language an
advantage.
