Swisscontact Accountant Job Vacancy in Rwanda

Swisscontact promotes economic, social and ecological

entrepreneurship, creates access to local financial service providers and
supports the efficient use of resources with the goal of successfully promoting
employment and income generation.
Swisscontact is currently implementing an SDC (Swiss
Agency for Development and Cooperation) project in Rwanda and is looking for a
professional Accountant to join its team in its Kigali office:
JOB POSITION: ACCOUNTANT

Required profile
  • Be a professional with at least a Bachelor degree
    in accounting/finance with a minimum of 3 years working experience;
  • A good command of French, English and
    Kinyarwanda;
  • An excellent level of communication and
    negotiation skills;
  • A good level of IT skills and related software
    packages (Accounting);
  • A high capacity to effectively work independently
    or under minimum supervision;
  • A high level of integrity.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES (Functions and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to 🙂
  • Bookkeeping of financial records into accounting
    system-Sextant
  • Prepare and organize accounting documents and
    vouchers;
  • Apply internal systems for obtaining purchase
    approvals and use of assets ensuring the adequate application of internal
    controls;
  • Maintain bank accounts and make bank
    reconciliations;
  • Prepare, organize monthly expenditures and
    follow-up on payments to suppliers;
  • Prepare and participate in financial audits;
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory payments
    (PAYE, RSSB, etc….) — and maintaining a file for such statutory payments
  • Provide advice and support to the Coordinator of
    Finance & Administration on all finance matters, including procurement
    and logistics issues.
  • Other official tasks as requested by the
    supervisor.
