Background
As
part of the universal mission of the Catholic Church, CRS works with local,
national and international Catholic institutions and structures, as well as
other organizations, to assist people on the basis of need, not creed, race or
nationality. The primary goal of CRS/Rwanda programming is to ensure that
vulnerable households in Rwanda achieve full, integral human development. 
In
this context, CRS is leading the implementation of the Integrated Nutrition and
WASH Activity (INWA) locally referred as GIKURIRO, a five-year, USAID-funded
initiative now in the third year of implementation which aims to improve the
nutritional status of women of reproductive age and children under five,
emphasizing the first 1,000 days of life between pregnancy and the child’s
second birthday. Gikuriro is reinforcing the Government of Rwanda’s efforts
towards its national goal of eliminating malnutrition in eight districts of
Rwanda, through targeted nutrition sensitive and nutrition specific
interventions, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and through strengthening
the capacity of government and local civil society organizations to implement
key actions and strategies set out in the National Community-based Food and
Nutrition Policy (CBF&NP) and the Community-based Environmental Health
Promotion Program (CBEHPP).
Job
Summary:
As
a member of the Gikuriro, coordination, and capacity
strengthening the team, you will ensure that effective coordination and
collaboration mechanisms of Gikuriro involvement and participation in nutrition
coordination structures at national and district level are in place and support
high-quality programming advancing Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work in serving
the poor and vulnerable.
You
will work with Gikuriro team to ensure that Comprehensive capacity
strengthening, and coordination, and collaboration efforts are implemented at
national, district and lower levels involving both GOR stakeholders and local
partners.
Your
thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the Gikuriro
consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the
impact of its benefits to those we serve. This position doesn’t have any
supervisory role
Job
Responsibilities:
  • Support
    the coordination and play the secretariat role for the nutrition and WASH
    Technical Working Groups (TWG) in NECDP and its subgroups.
  • Coordinate
    Gikuriro involvement and participation in JADF meetings and
    other nutrition-related forums at the district level.
  • Take
    the lead in Gikuriro’s participation in CHAIN platforms at district level
    structures where Gikuriro leads for improved integration and
    complementarity.
  • Follow
    up all CHAIN related collaboration activities and outcomes under Gikuriro
    and compile related documentation
  • Collaborate
    with the team for implementation of capacity strengthening activities
    under Gikuriro for staff and partner organizations to enhance program
    quality and impact.
  • Support
    the coordination and implementation of all assigned project activities as
    outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program
    quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Monitor
    and report any challenges and/or gaps identified to inform adjustments to
    plans and implementation schedules. Assist partners in their efforts to
    reflect on project experiences.
  • Support
    accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and
    assisting partners in their efforts to collect and analyze project data
    per specified mechanisms and tools. Collaborate with a
    local partner(s) to prepare reports per established reporting
    schedule.
  • Collect
    information on staff capacity needs and technical assistance needs of partner
    organizations and monitor capacity building and technical support
    activities to ensure effective impact.
  • Complete
    project documentation for assigned activities. Assist with identifying
    information for case studies and reports on promising practices.
Typical
Background, Experience & Requirements:
Education
and Experience
  • Bachelor’s
    degree in Social Sciences, Public Health or related field
  • Minimum
    of 4 years of work experience in project support. Experience in the field
    of nutrition, WASH and partnerships within NGO settings.
  • Experience
    in participatory action planning and community engagement.
  • Experience
    monitoring projects and collecting relevant data preferred.
  • Experience
    using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

    make a sound judgment
  • Good
    relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local
    partners and community members

    to details, accuracy, and timeliness in executing assigned
