An eight-year-old Russian girl who ran away from home after an argument she had with her parents was raped and killed after being driven in their car by a married couple.
The victim, Vika Teplyakova, was missing on Monday, July 6 after she left the home of her parents on Russia’s Sakhalin Island in Novoaleksandrovsk.
More than 500 people have already offered to look for her after she was seen walking alone along a road in a CCTV footage while wearing a T-shirt and blue shorts for a final time.
The young girl was missing for three days before a 32-year-old woman informed police that she and her husband had offered a lift for the child.
Today, Police identified the couple as Igor and Kristina Dvornikov and released pictures of the detained husband and wife suspected of carrying out the horrific crimes.
The man told his wife he would ‘attack’ the girl and ‘the woman did nothing to stop it because she was too scared of him’, according to a police source.
The girl was raped and strangled with a plastic bag. She died on Monday, the day she disappeared, police said.
The law enforcement also reported that the man’s wife took them to a hiding place near a lake where the girl’s body was.
Igor Dvornikov initially denied the kidnapping, rape and killing of the child but later, according to law enforcement, admitted to the heinous crimes.
It was also recorded that the man gave a sum of money to the little girl- £1.70-and took her to a supermarket before she was assaulted.
