Donald Trump has announced that several people are in police custody, and says he is seeking assistance in locating 15 other suspects in Lafayette Park for the vandalization of federal property.
The US president shared a photo on Twitter on Friday that revealed the perpetrators in the U.S. Park Police believe a statue of Andrew Jackson in the Lafayette Square area of Washington was vandalized on Monday.
Alongside the image, he wrote: ‘MANY people in custody, with many others being sought for Vandalization of Federal Property in Lafayette Park. 10-year prison sentences!’

The protesters from Black Lives Matter tried to bring down a statue of Andrew Jackson outside the White House amid protests sparked by George Floyd ‘s death, a Black man who died in Minneapolis police custody on May 25.
The 15 suspects are being investigated by the Park Police and FBI.
This comes three days after President Trump authorised the Federal Government to arrest anyone who vandalises statues and warned that any culprit who commits the act faces up to 10 years in prison, amid Black Lives Matter protests in the US.
