Rayshard Brooks, a black man was shot in the parking lot of a Wendy’s restaurant earlier this month by a white Atlanta police officer after officers responded to a call about a man who was asleep in his car, obstructing the drive-thru lane.

He sustained organ damage and blood loss from two gunshot wounds, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
