Edo state’s All Progressive Congress (APC) leaders say Adams Oshiomhole is still suspended from the party.
The APC leaders in Mr Oshiomhole ‘s Ward 10 in Etsako West Local Government Area ( LGA) and the local government party executives also said they are still members of the APC’s Edo State chapter.
Mr Oshiomhole had been suspended by the APC in Edo earlier this year. His suspension had been approved last week by the Abuja Court of Appeal.
Addressing journalists after a meeting at the APC Secretariat in Benin City on Friday, APC Chairman, Ward 10, Etsako West LGA, Oshawo Stephen, said all of Ward 10 ‘s executive members are still Party members.
He said the executives were inaugurated in 2018 and still are APC members.
Mr Oshawo said they want members of the public to be informed that they have not de-camped to any other party and remain members of the APC in Ward 10, Etsako West LGA state and executives.
He stressed that Mr Oshiomhole ‘s suspension as a member of Ward 10 in Etsako West LGA is still valid because of his alleged divisive roles in the Edo State APC rocking crisis.
Meanwhile, Ezolomhe Rabiat, the chairman of the APC in Etsako West LGA, also said the local government executives are still members of the state party.
The leaders of the APC in Edo are Governor Godwin Obaseki’s loyalists who are in a bitter feud with Mr Oshiomhole.
Their position was sent by the spokesperson for Mr Obaseki, Crusoe Osagie, who indicated that their actions have the governor’s support.
Mr Obaseki had been disqualified from seeking a second term by APC headquarters. The governor has now de-camped on his platform with the opposition PDP to seek re-election.
That its loyalists remain in the APC could only be seen as an effort to polarize the APC further ahead of the Edo governorship election.
