The Enugu State Police Command warns that shortlisted candidates wearing tattoos and those who are mentally unstable would be automatically disqualified .
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ebere Amaraizu, a police superintendent, announced this in an interview with the Nigeria News Agency (NAN) in Enugu on Tuesday, speaking on the current physical screening of the state’s shortlisted candidates.
The week-long workout supported by the Police Service Commission (PSC) began on Monday, July 1 and will be complete on Saturday, July 6.
It starts at 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. everyday at the headquarters of the Command, Enugu.
Mr Amaraizu said the exercise was hitch-free as candidates from the 17 Local Government Areas posted their multiple physical screening days at Police Headquarters and Local Government Headquarters.
The police official said all candidates must first undergo screening of physical appearance and presentation of certificates.
Shortlisted candidates will undergo comprehensive medical examination, assessments of body mass and height index as well as sight check, according to him.
“Team of police medical officers are examining if the applicant had tattoo or questionable mark on him or her and if that is spotted, it means automatic disqualification from the exercise.
“Our psychologists are also at the screening venue to examine the applicants psychologically to know their mental and emotional status.
“This is to ensure that they are psychologically balanced and mentally okay for the job,’’ he said.
In Enugu State, PSC had selected 2,945 candidates for physical screening for recruitment by police constables.
Shortlisted candidates must come with original and photocopies of their credentials as well as an office file, PSC invitation letter proof, a duly signed guarantor form and two latest passport pictures to the screening location.
They are required to dress on white shorts for the workout in white T-shirt. (NAN)
