Assistant Consumers Protection Officers II 4 posts FCC/ACPO II/01/2014

Reports to: Head of Division. Job Description:
Main Duties and Responsibilities
a) Assist in handling issues relating to misleading and deceptive conducts
as per Fair Competition Act.
b) Conduct market surveillance on unfair business practices as per Fair
Competition Act.
c) Assist in handling issues relating to unconscionable conducts as per
Fair Competition Act.
d) Assist in handling and enforcement of product recall from the market.
e) Assist in product safety and issues related to products information in
the market.
D Assist in enforcement of manufacturer’s Obligations as stipulated in Fair
Competition Act.
g) Assist in enforcement of implied conditions in Consumer Contracts as per
Fair Competition Act.
h) Assist in the collection and preparation of evidence for consumer cases
i) Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the head of
department from time to time.
Specific entry qualifications and Experience
Holder of Diploma in Law/Marketing or Business from any recognized College,
with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Possession of computer knowledge and consumer
protection will be an added advantage.

Reports to: Head of Division. Job Description:
Main Duties and Responsibilities
a) Develop strategy papers for studies to be carried out and presenting the
same to the supervisor;
b) Prepare detailed terms of reference for conducting the studies and
inquiries;
c) Carry out research, studies and public inquiries into matters relating
to competition;
d) Collect and compile economic data to be as economic evidence in
supporting competition cases;
e) Make statistical analysis using contemporary quantitative tools on
research findings in order to develop information that
can be used for various recommendations and decisions;
f) Present findings from studies and public inquiries to Management or the
Commission;
g) Make appropriate market surveillance for monitoring purposes and for
developing data resource;
h) Prepare proposals from complaints made to the Commission that would form
the basis for competition research, studies and public inquiries;
i) Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the head of
department from time to time.
Specific entry qualifications and Experience
Holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Statistics from any recognized
University, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Possession of computer knowledge
is an added advantage

Internal Auditor II 1 post FCC/IA II/ 01/2014
Reports to: Head of Division. Job Description:
Main Duties and Responsibilities
a) Promote good governance and strengthening policies, systems and
procedures of FCC;
b) Monitor adherence to Commission’s policies, systems and procedures at
all levels;
c) Communicate policies and guideline among FCC Staff for effective
delivery of quality services;
d) Assist the Head of the Unit in identifying, understanding and
appropriately managing its risk exposures by ensuring that risk management
strategies are in place and implemented;
e) Assist the Head of the Unit in preparing annual internal audit plans and
programmes and submit to the Internal Audit Committees for review and
approval;
fj Evaluate the effectiveness of existing system of internal control and
recommend appropriate improvement;
g) Identify and recommending relevant policy that ensures the Commission’s
assets are properly accounted for and safeguard from loss;
h) Follow up on replies to internal and external audits queries and verify
implementation or recommendations;
i) Prepare and Submitting monthly and quarterly internal audit reports to
the Commission’s Audit Committee and the Chairman of the Commission;
j) Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the head of
department from time to time.
SpeCific entry qualifications and Experience
Holder of a Bachelor’s Degreefrom any recognized University, with a GPA of
3.5 or higher and must have CIA, CPA (T) or ACCA or equivalent and
registered with NBAA.
Working experience at least 2 years in relevant field.
Possession of computer knowledge and financial management system will be an
added advantage.
