POSITION
OF ASSISTANT MARKETING MANAGER
  
SUMMARY
An
Assistant Marketing manager’s mission is to primarily promote the hotel. The
position is accountable for booking individual and group business on an
established base of the top producing key accounts and for managing /converting
high potential key prospects. By performing a plet

hora of tasks assigned to
him/her the Assistant Manager helps with advertising of products, negotiating
with companies and haggling on product and service prices and create marketing
strategies that will help in increasing the revenue of the hotel.

RESPONSIBILITIES
l        
The
Assistant Marketing Manager assists in drawing up the marketing plan annually
with the marketing manager.
l        
Keeps
a record of former, existing and potential clients and profile of each of them.
l        
Organizes
regular visits in accordance to a predetermined plan.
l        
Prepares
a tentative monthly schedule to record all sales and other related activities
for the preceding month.
l        
Ensures
that all clients have no negative balances and negative credit references.
l        
Closely
observes matters pertaining to competition (sites, prices, services offered on
a regular basis, quarterly or more often if need be.)
l        
Promotes
the hotel as often as possible through entertaining conducting, site
inspections, and presentations etc. of the hotel.
l        
Pay
visits to former, existing and potential clients in view of entering contracts
with them
l        
Provides
after sales service and in particular to ensure all guests complaints are taken
seriously and discussed with the respective departments if necessary.
l        
As
directed compile and input market intelligence information.
SKILLS
REQUIREMENTS
Should
be a good leader results oriented and organized.
He/she
must have excellent written and oral skills
Literacy
in computers
Should
possess excellent interpersonal skills
Good
customer service skills
Negotiation
skills
Good
verbal and written communication skills
Must
possess good marketing skills
JOB
REQUIREMENTS
Must
be able to demonstrate a mixture of commercial and creative skills. Must be
able to demonstrate the ability to build solid relationships with key
stakeholders. Should also be incredibly organized and is comfortable working at
a fast pace.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must
be educated to a first degree level or equivalent and a marketing background in
the hospitality industry will be an added advantage, but anyone who can show
commercial attitude, passion for excellent delivery, innovative spirit and
creative judgment will be considered.
