The Centre for
Investigative Journalism Malawi (CIJM) and its partners invites applications
for internships tenable at the Amabhungane Center for Investigative Journalism
in South Africa,
2 slots of 3 months each have emerged for successful
applicants to work with the Centres staff as an opportunity to hone their
investigative skills
CIJM advises
applicants that this is a full hands on programme where participants are
expected to: propose story ideas; do investigative stories, and prepare the
articles for publishing
Applicants must therefore
Submit a motivation
of 200 words why they want to join the program
Submit at least 2
investigative stories published in any recognizable media outlet within the
years 2013-2015
Be a working
journalist from any media outlet (or any other suitably qualified candidates)
Be ready to join the
Centre for asset period or to work on set investigative projects
Amabhungane imparts
skills to others in the media through internships and extramural transfers,
Interns join from across Southern Africa, where Amabhungane also encourages the
establishment of further investigative centre, Media houses are therefore
encouraged to second employees for internships, Amabhungane offers a stipend
(air tickets, monthly payments, accommodation) to successful candidates
