Transcontinental Media, owner of The Telegram, The Western Star in Corner Brook and 14 weekly community newspapers in Newfoundland and Labrador works aggressively to ensure its position as the premiere media source in the province for news, information, entertainment and advertising – in print and online. We currently need a smart, conscientious individual with strong language and people skills to participate as part of our editorial team at The Beacon servicing Gander and surrounding area.
The Beacon seeks to hire someone who is outgoing and sociable, and has penchant for ferreting out great human interest stories. The right person would be comfortable in working in small community settings, and seek to tell the day-to-day happenings in the lives of those residents. The ideal candidate will hold a journalism degree or diploma. However, any relevant combination education and experience will be considered.
In addition, the person we require would have knowledge of digital photography, would hold a valid driver¹s license and would have access to a reliable vehicle.
