Job Description:
The primary objective of this position is to provide direction for the safe and efficient operation of the OHRG Limited Exploration Camp situated 23 km NE of the town of Atikokan, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that activities are completed according to Osisko’s policies and procedures and are aimed at the achievement of the organization’s objectives. The rotation for this position is tentatively set at 21 days on, 14 days off.
Duties:
– Ensures that all staff, contractors and visitors adhere to and respect all health and safety policies and procedures;
– Acts as a liaison between camp staff and senior management;
– Ensures workforce is utilized to its highest potential;
– Works closely with the Site Services Manager to ensure that the camp is maintained appropriately and that the quality of life and safety of workers is optimized;
– Responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance of all assets;
– Ensures that the objectives of delivering quality food and maintaining clean facilities in a safe environment are achieved each and every day.
Requirements:
– Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a remote camp environment;
– Post-secondary education preferred;
– An excellent understanding of related Occupational Health & Safety Acts and regulations and employment laws;
– Proficient in English (verbal and written), knowledgeable of French (both verbal and written) is an asset;
– Knowledgeable of equipment as well as building maintenance is an asset;
– Knowledgeable of computer programs (Excel, Word) is an asset.
