Range 8 $72,918 – $81,520 per year.
SUMMARY
OF FUNCTION:
Lead
the TRCA Watershed Reporting function, including pro

duction of report cards
describing the health of TRCA watersheds and the waterfront area, and the
Living City Report Card on the environmental health and sustainability
performance of the Toronto region. Work with internal and external stakeholders
to complete analysis, content preparation, and publication. As a member of the
Watershed Planning, Reporting and Strategy team, provide input to TRCA
watershed planning, corporate strategy, and other evidence-based, adaptive
strategies for pursuing TRCA and regional environmental and sustainability
goals.

KNOWLEDGE:
  • 4
    Year University Degree or equivalent in environmental management,
    environment or sustainability studies, or a related field. A graduate
    degree in will be considered an asset;
  • Minimum
    of 5 years’ experience in managing projects or programs related to major
    tasks;
  • Knowledge
    of legislation, policy and recent developments relevant to watershed
    planning, environmental management and sustainability issues in the
    Toronto Region;
  • Understanding
    of principles, policies and practice in adaptive environmental management
    and sustainability management;
  • Ability
    to develop partnerships with organizations in the public, private and
    civil society sectors to fund, undertake and communicate analysis on
    environmental and sustainability issues;
  • Experience
    in developing and analyzing environmental and sustainability indictors and
    metrics, and understanding of the role of indicators, metrics and
    reporting in environmental and sustainability strategy, planning and
    management;
  • Leadership
    in multidisciplinary and multi-organizational teams;
  • Influence
    and pursuit skills to keep on budget, communicate effectively and maintain
    commitments to outcomes;
  • Track
    record of successful implementation of projects and events;
  • Excellent
    communications skills in all modes, with emphasis on an ability to
    synthesize complex technical and policy content into effective
    documentation and presentations for a variety of audiences;
  • Excellent
    customer, stakeholder or client relationship management skills;
  • Budgetary

SUMMARY
OF MAJOR TASKS:
1.
Lead the development and publication of TRCA watershed and waterfront report
cards, in collaboration with the watershed services teams and input from TRCA
technical and communications staff.
2.
Work with the outgoing project manager to coordinate completion of the 2016
Living City Report Card, including final content preparation, publication and
communication activities.
3.
Develop partnerships in the public, private and civil society sectors to
determine the scope of future versions of the Living City Report Card and to
establish a sustainable long-term business model for data collection, analysis
and reporting and follow-up on progress
4.
Lead the TRCA role in development and publication of future versions of the
Living City Report Card, including conducting analyses and content preparation
for which TRCA is responsible, and coordinating the TRCA contribution to
design, publication and communication.
5.
Work with Watershed Services Team leads to develop a robust community
engagement strategy to utilize existing networks for stakeholder input in the
development of report cards.
6.
Support TRCA Watershed Services watershed managers, as needed, in the promotion
, distribution, public outreach and communication of information contained in
the Report Cards.
7.
Collaborate with other members of the Watershed Planning, Reporting and
Strategy team to strongly integrate watershed reporting and watershed planning
in an adaptive management framework that will inform the management activities
of TRCA and its partners.
8.
Work with the TRCA Finance department to integrate indicators from watershed
and waterfront report cards and Living City Report Card with those utilized in
the Corporate Planning and Reporting program.
9.
Hire, supervise and evaluate the performance of consultants, other team members
and summer staff, as required.
10.
Prepare proposals and sponsorships for non-traditional funding from multiple
sources including all levels of government (municipal, regional, provincial and
federal), corporations, special task forces, foundations and other
environmental advocacy groups
11.
Prepare and deliver presentations, communications and reports to senior staff,
the Authority and its Boards and other member municipalities, special groups
and funding partners as required to communicate activities and outcomes related
to major tasks.
12.
Lead budgeting and account management for TRCA Watershed Reporting activities,
and develop a framework for progress reporting and tracking the internal and
external uptake and use of report cards.
13.
Other duties as assigned.
