The Ministry of Health of Enugu State has said 72 health care staff in the state have tested COVID-19 positive.
Dr. Ikechukwu Obi, the state health commissioner, announced this in a statement released today, June 26. He said the 72 health workers who have been infected were among a total of 202 who tested positive in Enugu.
As announced Thursday evening by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Obi also confirmed 28 new cases of COVID-19 in the state. According to him, in Enugu, the total COVID-19 cases confirmed by the laboratory are 202 with 154 cases on treatment while 43 cases have been discharged.
The Commissioner also reported that the number of COVID-19-related deaths recorded is 5 in the state.
He warned the residents to live according to the NCDC protocol as COVID19 is real.
