DJ Cuppy bids goodbye to Arsenal Football Club

English Premier League side, Arsenal, enjoy a massive following worldwide , particularly in Nigeria, but the London club has recently lost supporters in droves due to their declining fortunes.

Amongst the country’s Arsenal Football Club supporters are the richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote, and former senate president Bukola Saraki of Nigeria.

Despite diminishing results in recent years, however, not many are publicly flaunting their affiliation with the Gunners as before, although some have also pledged allegiance to other teams.

One of those who seem to be moving camps away from Arsenal is Nigerian billionaire, daughter of Femi Otedola, DJ Cuppy.

On Saturday, DJ Cuppy created a stir on Twitter when she posted on her handle that she could no longer remain in her toxic relationship with Arsenal before adding a mock video where she indicated that she move her support to a team that had yet to be called going forward.

Cuppy said a person can take too much heartbreak from their soccer club.

She wrote: It’s not me, it’s you Broken heart. Only so much heartbreak a girl can take @Arsenal

… I can no longer stay in this toxic relationship. I’m sorry.

Not just DJ Cuppy, others including Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta himself were disappointed with the 2-1 loss in Saturday’s game away to Brighton.

Yet while some would defiantly yell “Gunners for Life,” Cuppy who admitted that she has had enough of being an Arsenal fan for the past six years.

Sobbing as she pleaded from the heartbreak for fans to give her time to heal, Cuppy said she was wondering what club to continue supporting the future.
