Health implication of bush burning on man and his environment

Bush
burning as its being studied not only pose health hazard to man alone but also
the environment in general via emission of various pollutants.
There
are various health implication of bush burning on man and his environment which
includes; reduction of visibility by particulate matters, respiratory disorder,
destruction of soil nutrients, desert encroachment, increase in global warming,
and enhancement of formation of acid rain among others.

However,
health implication of bush burning could be classified into three major groups
namely;
Health effect
Health
hazard ranging from eye and respiratory tract irritation to serious disorders
such as poor visibility, difficulty in breathing, bronchitis, increased
severity of asthma, cancer, depression, pain and even premature death.
Agriculture effect
Agricultural
effects include soil erosion, deforestation, drought, desertification,
extinction of certain species, famine, reduction of yield production and loss of
bio-diversity among others.
Environmental effect
Environmental
effect include acid rain, ozone layer depletion, deforestation and global
warming among others (Aibor & Olurunda, 2006).
