Study setting and sampling techniques

The research was base on the assessment of hazard
associated with sawmill industries in Otoriwhreko. Sawmill is located close to
the main market along the Ughelli North Local Government secretariat, and it is
close to residential area. This is to say that the result of the study will
cover all the work areas in the sawmill.

For the purpose of this study, a sample size of 100
respondents was used. The simple and stratified random sampling techniques was adopted
by the researcher. The stratified random sampling was used to divide the study
area into four strata and in each of the stratum, the simple random sampling
techniques were used to select the sample size of 100 respondent for the study.
The reason is based in the fact that they are in a
better position to provide meaningful information about the possible ways of
improving the standard of sawmill industries. The sample size adopted for this
study is 100 respondents, in order to obtain the figure and to have accurate
information.
