THE
JOB
This position will be a key memb
er of the estimating department and will focus
on developing cost estimates on routine and complex jobs as per customer
requests for quotation. The Estimator is an integral part of the production
process and will assist sales, purchasing and management in the custom
manufacturing of our clients print work. The ideal individual will be an
integral part of the unit’s workflow and has a general understanding of
business processes, and must be able to interact and successfully see projects
through to completion. This involves planning, organizing, and scheduling work,
maintain estimating standard procedures, performing job cost analysis,
engineering the best production plan for projects as well as training, coaching
and mentoring staff.
Requirements
Ideally you will have a relevant print estimation qualification with at least 8
years’ experience gained in printing or packaging industry. You will possess
organisational, coordination, communication, analytical, strong mathematics and
negotiation skills as well as being self-driven and results oriented. In
addition, you will have the ability to work well under tight deadlines for
projects of various size and scope, have a comprehensive knowledge of all
printing processes, paper, ink, computer operation and purchasing, complete
ability to calculate the quantity of paper, ink, plates and the time required
to complete each job and experience using several different substrates and
printing processes.
