Mining Infrastructure (Earthworks)

We have an urgent
requirement for a talented Project Manager to deliver a dam wall raise on one
of the Bowen Basin’s largest coal m
ines. The
successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and will be the key
conduit with the client. 

The key responsibilities
include;

• Ensure that project is delivered according to the
  programme. If necessary, altering production targets and construction
  methods to ensure that key milestones are delivered
• Ensuring that project profit margins are achieved by
  managing costs, while optimizing plant, staff and materials
• Manage the contract and leverage claims for variations
  and delays 
• Ensuring that all QA testing and performance
  expectations are met
• Exceed all client reporting requirements
• Maintain a strong and motivated project team

Key skills and experience
required;

• Previous experience on the construction of tailings dam,
  water storage or evaporation ponds
• Good knowledge of bulk earthworks with strong
  appreciation of optimal scraper circuit design. 
• Excellent commercial acumen with specific reference to
  cost control and contract administration
• Good QA and material utilisation experience with the
  ability to mitigate over-compaction and reduce haulage and borrow costs
• Extensive experience as a self-performing civil
  contractor within a mining infrastructure environment
• Good reporting and client relationship management skills

The initial term of this contract
will be 7 months with the likelihood of extension/transition to other projects.
