awarded a contract for the Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Plate Work (SMPP)
for the Letlhakane Mine Tailings Resource Treatment Plant. The Company is

Job Summary
To develop and implement strategies, systems and actions in conjunction with
management to ensure that Health, Safety, Security and Environmental systems
are implemented and legal requirements are met in the workplace thereby
contributing to a safe and secure working environment. To coach and mentor and
skill transfer to Safety officer and Student Jnr safety officers currently
employed.
Requirements
Main
Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for advising management and employees about
safe and healthy work practices, and health and safety management systems.
Inspect machinery, equipment and workplaces. Investigate complaints,
accidents/incidents, prepare reports and ensure recommendations are
implemented. He/she will plan audits, inspections and drills at required
intervals. He/she will identify safety training needs, and conduct induction
programme. The incumbent will also be responsible for hazard and risk
identification, safety system maintenance and compliance, as well as on site
environmental management. This person will operate in a role where he will
build on the legacy training and development for local safety professionals.
That is why he is appointed on a HSE specialist role and not a manager. A
subject matter expert with the practical experience who can lead and guide the
students.
Qualifications,
Experience and Attributes
NQF Level 4 qualification or related HSE Qualification plus a minimum of 5
years HSE experience with Contractor/EPCM/Client environment. NOSA/SAMTRAC.
Good communication skills in English and excellent administrative and computer
skill and experience in the management and control of HSE in the construction
sites as well as a sound knowledge on Redis HSE systems.
