ActionAid
is seeking a qualified person to fill the Position of Women’s Rights and
Advocacy Coordinator.

Location:
 Actionaid International Rwanda Headquarters in Kigali.

Start Date: Immediately. 
About
the position: The Women’s Rights and Advocacy Coordinator will be responsible
for promoting and supporting the integration and inclusion of women’s rights
and gender equality in all aspects of ActionAid’s programmes and policy work,
and within the organization. She will lead and coordinate the development and
strengthening of work on women’s rights to achieve the Country Strategy. The WR
Coordinator will also liaise with local rights programme managers and specific
projects managers/officer in relation to ensuring gender mainstreaming is
adhered to.
The key responsibilities for this
position will be as follows: 
Take a leading role in developing and
coordinating ActionAid’s work on women’s rights, both to ensure the
integration/mainstreaming of women’s rights throughout the LRPS and projects,
as well as to undertake specific women’s rights initiatives.
Contribute to the development/implementation
of ActionAid’s Country Strategy – in particular women’s leadership and
mobilisation, economic empowerment, anti-violence against women and recognition
of unpaid care work. 
Effectively manage relationships with
ActionAid’s programme partner organisations, particularly in relation to
women’s rights and gender equality work. 
Design and develop strategic research
on women’s rights that will inform policy and campaigning work, complementing
and building on program based evidence and research. 
Develop IEC materials to support
advocacy on women’s rights and gender equality.
Participate in relevant women’s
networks at national, Regional and International Platform and working groups
and liaise with relevant Government Ministries /institutions, local
authorities, development partners and other stakeholders. 
Lead the development initiatives for
the Women’s forum in ActionAid International Rwanda.
Initiate and/or provide input into the
development of proposals across the programme to ensure that women’s rights are
included and promoted
Plan, secure and manage institutional
funding for the women’s rights Programmes.
Provide or source training for AA and
partner staff on gender and women’s rights in HRBA perspective
Maintain high quality monitoring and
evaluation of women’s rights programming
Eligible
applicants are required to have the following qualifications and skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Development
Studies, Gender, Social Work, law or related field
At least 3 years working experience in
project/programme implementation; experience in working with multiple donors
and partners
Extensive understanding of gender
equality issues and programming 
Strong analytical and strategic
thinking 
Must demonstrate a track record in
policy influence and advocacy 
Proven ability to facilitate training
and conduct project/programme monitoring and evaluation
Fluent in written and spoken
English 
Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills 
Strong desire to work for the equality
and rights of women
Ability to lead and to influence
others
Ability to work on one’s own
initiative and operate as part of a team
Be flexible to changing requirements
that the role may require
Key
internal relations: Head of Programmes, Programme staff, Fundraising and
Sponsorship staff, Country Director, SMT, CMT and other AAIR Staff, including
Regional Women’s Rights Coordinator, International Platform Manager for Women’s
Right and other AAI Country Programmes and IS staff, Rights Holders, Partners
and Board members when necessary
