Key
responsibilities
responsibilities
- Work
as part of a service specific engineering team to design, deploy and
support 24x7x365 Linux OS based operationals. - Able
to install and maintain the Red Hat Linux Server operating system and
various Linux applications and services such as Apache, TomCat, Kerberos,
LDAP, Puppet, Satellite Server, Bind, and Postfix, Bash, Python, and Perl
scripting. - Work
with hardware, support, and implementations to ensure smooth transitions
of changes to production environments - Collaborate
with technical writing team to maintain installation and support
documentation. - Build,
install, configure, and Implement new Systems, Servers, and Virtual Nodes
*Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of the entire
Linux system, and Virtualization Infrastructure. - Manage
problem and service tickets ensuring timely resolution to meet Service
Level Agreements - Must
be available to work outside of normal business hours to fulfill
production and project needs, provide 7×24 on-call support - Ability
to conduct training sessions to share knowledge with peers and other
support teams as necessary - Use
backup and recovery best practices to ensure critical systems are
protected from data loss. - Consolidates
system data to formulate reports for business managers - Meticulous
attention to detail with an appreciation for the relationship between
system reliability and company success - Presents
or makes recommendations on technical issues - Demonstrated
aptitude for learning and rapidly mastering new applications and
technology
Qualifications
- Degree
in computer science or equivalent - 3+
years of experience with Linux Redhat administration, troubleshooting and
configuration. - Ability
to work in a fast paced, deadline intensive environment - Certification
in Red Hat Linux Administration qualification is an advantage - Storage
Engineering: Network storage (NAS, SAN & Virtualized), Luster - Monitoring
Tools: Nagios Professional, Cacti - Project
management experience - Ability
to succeed in a highly demanding and international culture where change
and speed are part of daily work - Strong
communication skills to communicate systems proposals to management and
customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems
