Find yourself in
another world – a village in Uganda – as you volunteer with local groups
advocating on behalf of women and children. Whether you’re interested in
working with kids or helping a group of widows learn the basics of accounting,
living and working in Uganda will

change the way you see the world. Along the
way, you’ll see a stunning part of Africa and make friendships that may last a
lifetime.

ELI Abroad’s Uganda
projects are based in the Iganga district of Uganda, about 3 hours from the
capital city of Kampala. You’ll live with a local family and become a welcomed,
appreciated member of the community. On weekends you can head to Jinja, a
tourist-friendly town at the source of the Nile, where you can enjoy white
water rafting or kayaking, explore the jungles, or hang out in the town’s cafes
and restaurants. Past volunteers raved about the exoticism of this placement,
and the opportunity to experience life in an African village.
